“0.0.0.0-Day” vulnerability affects Chrome, Safari and Firefox

Security researchers have found a vulnerability, nicknamed “0.0.0.0-Day”, in popular browsers like Chrome, Safari, and Firefox which can be exploited by attackers to gain access to internal networks. The vulnerability stems from how these browsers handle network requests from external, public websites. Fixes are being worked on, but in the meantime, the researchers warn developers to protect their local applications. Around 0.015% of all websites, equating to roughly 100,000 sites, may be communicating with the potentially malicious 0.0.0.0 IP address.
