10 industry-defining security incidents from the last decade

Cybersecurity vendor Trustwave has highlighted ten notable breaches in the last decade, including: SolarWinds’ hack, EternalBlue’s ransomware attacks, OpenSSL’s Heartbleed flaw, Shellshock’s execution in Bash, Apache Struts’ Equifax breach, CPU vulnerabilities Meltdown and Spectre, BlueKeep and Microsoft’s Remote Desktop Services, the Drupalgeddon series, Microsoft Windows’ OLE vulnerability Sandworm, and the Ripple20 vulnerabilities highlighting IoT risks. Trustwave found that several of the breaches listed continue to be a security risk due to organisations’ struggles to track, log, and apply patches.
