2023 healthcare data breaches set to outpace last year

Over 330 breaches affecting 43 million people have been reported by HIPAA-covered healthcare organizations in 2023 till now, nearing 2022’s total of over 52 million. Following this, U.S. Senator Mark Warner is developing legislation for minimum cybersecurity standards in the healthcare sector in the wake of costly healthcare data breaches.
