2,100 Nottinghamshire NHS appointments cancelled as critical incident remains in place

Over 2,000 patients had hospital appointments cancelled due to a junior doctors’ strike in Nottinghamshire. After the end of the British Medical Association’s industrial action, a critical incident status remained due to increased pressure on services. While staffing levels have improved, the rise in Covid and flu patients persist. Across the UK, more than 113,779 appointments were cancelled during the strike. Though the mandate to hold strikes lasts until February, it may be extended.
