40 million patients affected by healthcare data breaches in first half of 2023

Critical Insight’s report found that 40 million patients’ data have been breached this year, with a renewed focus on third-party entry points. The total breaches fell by 15% compared to H2 2022, but large-scale data incidents increased the number of affected people. The largest portion of exposed data, 48%, was linked to business associates.
