59% Year-over-year Increase in Exploitable Vulnerabilities in Medical Devices

A study by Health-ISAC, Finite State, and Securin has discovered an almost 60% increase in exploitable vulnerabilities in medical devices since 2022, with around 1,000 vulnerabilities identified in 966 medical products. The intensifying threat could result in patient safety risks, healthcare network breaches, and escalating costs for healthcare data breaches. Recommendations include regular penetration testing, prioritizing patching based on known risks, and requiring vendors to follow secure-by-design methodologies.
