74-year-old man loses $70k after downloading third-party app to buy roast duck

A 74-year-old man in Singapore lost $70,000 after his Android phone was infected with malware by scammers. Mr Loh was enticed by a Facebook ad for a roast duck and instructed to download a third-party app to pay a $5 deposit. Within minutes, his phone screen went blank and he was unable to turn it off. The scammers then raised his bank transaction limit and transferred savings from his accounts.
