US lawmaker says FBI notified him of email breach linked to Microsoft cloud hack

China-backed hackers have accessed US House Representative Don Bacon’s personal and campaign email accounts, according to warnings received from the FBI. The Republican Congressman from Nebraska has stated that other victims were also targeted by the cyber incident, with some reports revealing that the hackers had raided the email accounts of senior US government officials using a stolen Microsoft key. The hackers are suspected to be the China-backed group Storm-0558.
