Political History: How A Democratic Organization Leaked Six Million Email Addresses

Approximately 6.2 million email addresses were exposed by a misconfigured Amazon S3 storage bucket belonging to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC). This exposure was due to an operational error by a DSCC employee. The email addresses listed were primarily from major providers, universities, government agencies, and the military. The bucket has since been secured after UpGuard’s Data Breach Research Team reported the issue.
