NHS Staff Reprimanded For WhatsApp Data Sharing

An NHS trust has come under fire for allowing staff to share patient information on an unapproved WhatsApp group. Over two years, 26 employees at NHS Lanarkshire shared sensitive data, including names, addresses, and clinical information. The trust reported the issue once discovered, but the Information Commissioner’s Office noted the patient data had been shared over 500 times.
