Learning Curve: How Personal Data for One Million Individuals Was Exposed
Data from lead generation company Target Direct Marketing has been left exposed online, making available personally identifiable information (PII) for over a million individuals. Exposed information includes names, email addresses, graduation information and area of study. The leak contains data from as far back as 2005 and was discovered on 26 February 2018. The breach demonstrates the dangers of cyber risk for enterprises. Companies must ensure they diligently adhere to their internal processes to reduce the risk of such damaging gaps in their defences.
