Scottish NHS data breaches up by a third in five years
Figures have shown that there were more than 6,000 General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) violations by Scotland’s regional health boards over the past five years. The breaches have grown by nearly a third since records began in 2018, with the most violations occurring at NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Issues include cases of theft, hacking, unauthorised access to patient information, and correspondence sent to incorrect addresses.
