Cybersecurity flaw fixed in Medtronic’s cardiac device data platform

Medtronic, the medtech giant, has called upon its customers to follow steps to mitigate the risk of their cardiac device data workflow systems being breached. The potential vulnerability was found in an optional messaging feature that could allow an authorised user to delete, modify, or steal cardiac device data. Medtronic stated that it has not noticed any cyberattacks, unauthorised access to patient data, or patient harm related to this issue.
