Federal agencies release updated privacy guide for health app developers

Several federal government agencies have created a “trail guide” called the Mobile Health Apps Tool to assist health app developers in understanding privacy laws and regulations. The tool helps developers identify which federal laws apply to their app and which agencies oversee different aspects of mobile health technology. This comes in response to concerns about user privacy and security in digital health apps.
