Improving cyber preparedness is a collective responsibility

Greg Garcia, executive director of the Healthcare and Public Health Sector Coordinating Council cybersecurity working group, emphasized the importance of collaboration in managing cybersecurity risks in the healthcare sector. He highlighted the increasing number of data breaches and the vulnerabilities posed by aging medical devices and third-party service providers. Garcia urged healthcare organizations to recognize their collective responsibility and make use of available resources and toolkits to address these challenges. He also mentioned upcoming releases such as a White Paper on AI Applications and Cyber Risks and a Legacy Medical Device Cybersecurity Management Guide.
