Feds warn healthcare providers of ‘exceptionally aggressive’ ransomware group

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ cybersecurity arm has issued a warning about the Hive ransomware group, cautions healthcare organizations to be aware of their operations. Hive has been targeting the U.S. healthcare sector aggressively since its establishment in June 2021. The group uses various tactics, including double extortion and ransomware-as-a-service, and has breached more than 350 companies in just four months. The agency recommends implementing cybersecurity measures like two-factor authentication and data backups to protect against Hive and similar threats.
