St Helens Council hit by suspected Ransomware cyber attack

St Helens Council’s IT systems have been hit by a suspected ransomware attack. The council confirmed it is currently dealing with the hack, which was first identified on Monday, August 21, and has put in place a number of security measures whilst its external cyber security contractor investigates. The council urged residents to be mindful of the situation and to be vigilant of potential online scams.
