NHS IT supplier held to ransom by hackers

The major NHS IT provider Advanced has been targeted by ransomware attackers, who have taken control of its IT systems. While the company claims that a full recovery might take three to four weeks, the NHS insists that service disruption has been minimal. It is unclear if NHS data was compromised or if Advanced is in negotiation with the hackers. The affected products include Adastra, used by the NHS 111 service, and Caresys and Carenotes.
