Waikato DHB eyes digital services improvement by next week

The Waikato District Health Board (DHB) in New Zealand has made “significant” progress in restoring its technical systems following a recent cyberattack. The DHB plans to improve its digital capability by the end of next week, with radiation therapy, inpatient management, radiology, and laboratory services expected to be operational. Over half of the DHB’s servers have been restored, and heightened security measures have been implemented. Acute surgeries and some outpatient clinics are operational, but full functionality may still take some time. The cyberattack may have been triggered by an email attachment.
