European insurance company AXA has partnered with Microsoft to launch a digital healthcare platform. The platform, which was successfully piloted last year, offers services such as self-assessment tools, teleconsultations, and appointment booking. It is initially available to AXA customers in Germany and Italy with plans for further roll-out in the UK, Belgium, Spain, and Switzerland by 2022. AXA aims to create an open, global service for healthcare providers and patients, integrating third-party services and improving research and treatments. The platform will rely on Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare technology, including Azure API for Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR).
