Privacy concerns raised about NHS test and trace call centres

There are concerns that staff working on the NHS test and trace call centres used personal email accounts to handle individuals’ health data, in breach of GDPR. The Information Commissioner’s Office is investigating the complaint. This adds to previous controversies faced by the test and trace program, including software issues and a ransomware attack. Outsourcing giant Sitel, which runs part of the call centre operation, is currently investigating the allegations.
