The nonprofit Center for Internet Security (CIS) has launched a no-cost ransomware protection service for private hospitals in the US. The service, called Malicious Domain Blocking and Reporting (MDBR), uses software from cybersecurity vendor Akamai to identify, block, and mitigate targeted threats. The service is already available to public hospitals, health departments, and healthcare organizations, and has successfully blocked over 748 million requests for known and suspected malicious web domains.
