CISOs weigh in on building security-focused culture

At the HIMSS Healthcare Cybersecurity Forum, IT leaders from SoNE Health and UCLA Medical discussed improving cybersecurity by promoting awareness through employee education and building trust. They noted regular phishing simulations were not enough to build a security culture. Rather, accurately communicating the stakes of data security and patient safety to all healthcare staff was key, while considering differently communicated needs for different roles within an organization.
