Accenture to provide ‘world class’ perimeter cybersecurity services to the NHS

US firm Accenture has signed a contract with NHS Digital to provide free perimeter cybersecurity services to NHS trusts. The offerings will include next-generation firewall, secure web filtering, network intrusion detection and prevention, and more. The contract is valued at around £40 million ($48 million) and the services will be available for five years from winter 2019/2020. This comes as NHS trusts have increased their IT spending by almost £152 million ($183 million) since the 2017 WannaCry attack. The new contract aims to improve network security and reduce the risk of cyberattacks.
