The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has issued an alert regarding vulnerabilities in Philips’ Tasy electronic medical record (EMR) platform. The vulnerabilities could potentially compromise patient confidentiality and system integrity. The advisory affects customers in the Latin American EMR market, where Philips has about a thousand installations. Philips advises users to update to the most recent versions of the product and upgrade service packs. The vulnerabilities have not yet been exploited. Healthcare is the industry with the highest number of data breaches.
