The need for new ways of protecting health data

Healthcare is facing increasing cyberattacks and needs to adopt new ways of protecting data, according to Alvin Rodrigues, Senior Director of Forcepoint Information Security. Rodrigues highlighted the need for a behaviour-centric, analytics-driven approach to cybersecurity and emphasized the importance of visibility, access control, and collaboration in managing cyber threats. He stated that healthcare is a prime target for hackers who are seeking patient information and credentials, and highlighted the lack of encryption and awareness among doctors as concerning factors. Rodrigues also emphasized the importance of risk adaptive protection and the use of AI and machine learning in understanding human behavior related to cyber attacks.
