Staff lapses and IT system vulnerabilities are key reasons behind SingHealth cyberattack, according to COI Report

A report has been released by the Committee of Inquiry in Singapore, which investigated a cyber attack on SingHealth’s patient database system. The report found that staff at Integrated Health Information Systems (IHiS) lacked cybersecurity awareness, certain staff failed to take appropriate action, and there were vulnerabilities in the system. The report made 16 recommendations, including improving staff awareness and enhancing security checks. The report also emphasized the need for implementation of the recommendations with oversight and verification.
