WannaCry highlighted weaknesses in emergency responses to cyber attacks

Last year’s WannaCry attack on the UK health service revealed weaknesses in emergency responses to healthcare cyber attacks. Bob Zemke, Healthcare Solutions Director at Extreme Networks, emphasized the importance of having defined response plans in addition to defending against risks. Zemke also highlighted the need for better communication between clinical departments and IT teams and the recognition that threats to connected systems can come from both outside and inside the hospital.
