Key patient data at risk of leak, sale on Dark Web

The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in New Delhi is still recovering from a major ransomware attack on its servers. AIIMS is now running affected online patient services manually. Cybersecurity company, CloudSEK, has revealed a 95.34% increase in cyberattacks on the healthcare industry during the first four months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021, making the Indian healthcare sector the second most targeted globally. The researchers recommend that healthcare organizations adhere to HIPAA’s compliance requirements and take proactive measures to enhance cybersecurity.
