Healthcare infosec leaders rank security posture, maturity just ‘average’

A panel of healthcare infosec leaders at the HIMSS Media Security Forum ranked the cybersecurity posture of the healthcare sector as four or five out of ten, indicating that there is still a long way to go. While progress has been made, small to mid-size hospitals are still struggling. The industry is facing evolving threats and challenges such as dependency on third parties and a false sense of cloud security. Maturity in cybersecurity can only be achieved through education, processes, and a shift in mindset, with infosec leaders having a seat at the strategy table.
