Beware of Fake Chrome Browser Updates that Install Malware

A campaign is underway to lure victims into installing a Remote Administration Tool (RAT) called NetSupport Manager, masquerading as Chrome browser updates. Cybercriminals use the software to steal information and take control of victims’ computers. Widespread use of the Chromium browser makes it a target for these attacks. The automated campaign is spread through compromised websites, prompting the need for innovative security solutions to curb the cyber risk.
