NHS Digital developing ‘avatar’ to answer data queries, UK e-Health week told

NHS Digital Director of Data, Daniel Ray, has explained plans to improve access to nationally-held data sets through the use of machine learning tools. One initiative under development is an AI tool called ‘Amelia’ which will allow users to ask questions about data, such as waiting times for MRI scans. NHS Digital is also streamlining the application process for accessing data to make it faster and easier for those who have successfully applied in the past.
