CMS Deputy CIO Janet Vogel to replace outgoing HHS CISO Wlaschin
Janet Vogel will become the new Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) in April, replacing current CISO Chris Wlaschin who is stepping down to “spend more time with his family”. Vogel’s skills in information technology, information security, and risk mitigation will be crucial in expanding HHS’ cybersecurity programs. There has been controversy surrounding HHS’ Health Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center, with two leaders being removed for ethics violations.
