HHS warns of fresh WannaCry-like attacks after Microsoft, DHS reports

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has issued a security alert to healthcare organizations about newly discovered Windows vulnerabilities and a new threat with similarities to WannaCry. The alert was in response to reports from Microsoft and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), warning of a threat called Hidden Cobra that targets critical infrastructure and various sectors, including healthcare. Although Microsoft released patches for vulnerabilities, HHS warned that they may not protect against Hidden Cobra, as it exploits multiple vulnerabilities.
