FireEye exec to probe why hackers see healthcare data as such a lucrative target
Cyber-criminals are increasingly targeting healthcare organizations due to the lure of electronic protected health information. In the past two years, severe network intrusions have cost victim organizations tens of millions of dollars. Dan McWhorter, from IT security vendor FireEye, will give a keynote address at HIMSS16 on the importance of health data security and will discuss why healthcare organizations are high-value targets for security breaches. McWhorter will also address the problem of third-party relationships enabling network intrusions.
