UPMC to consult in Afghanistan

UPMC will provide second opinions and medical consultations in Afghanistan through telemedicine services. UPMC physicians will offer services in dermatology, infectious disease, neurology, and orthopedics. Onsite OHS intends to expand UPMC’s consultations to other countries in southwest Asia and potentially to several US states. The consultations will be provided through a web-based telemedicine system developed at UPMC’s Technology Development Center. UPMC’s telemedicine program serves patients in various countries, enabling better chronic disease management, improved access to specialists, and enhanced education for healthcare providers.
