Health IT spending flying high, survey says

A survey conducted by Black Book HIE suggests that healthcare IT spending is expected to triple by 2014. However, despite this projection, the majority of US hospitals and physicians are still not connected to HIE technology. The survey also found that only one in 15 provider organizations are developing strategies to advance towards HIE adoption, while 84% of industry tech executives are actively taking measures to move towards HIE adoption.
