Cybersecurity: Last year was a record year for attacks, and Log4j made it worse

Cybersecurity firm Check Point Research documented a 50% rise in weekly cyberattacks on corporate networks in 2021 compared to 2020, attributing the peak to the Log4j vulnerability discovered in December. The education and research sectors experienced the highest volume of attacks. The firm forecasts an increase in numbers for 2022 due to innovation and new methods in cyberattacks, particularly ransomware.
