Identity crisis looms for US healthcare

As the U.S. continues to digitize its healthcare industry, the challenge of securing systems and verifying identities is becoming increasingly important. Current identity security approaches are deemed inadequate due to the rise in data breaches and criminal attacks on hospitals. The National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace is being implemented to increase privacy, security, and trust in online transactions. However, more work needs to be done to establish standards and technologies in the healthcare sector.
