Cloud computing, mobile devices part of HITRUST’s focus for 2011

The Health Information Trust Alliance (HITRUST) has announced that it will support the healthcare industry in 2011 with initiatives focused on maintaining the Common Security Framework (CSF) and CSF Assurance program. They plan to focus on key areas such as cloud computing, data protection, health information exchanges, mobile devices, and authentication management. HITRUST will also work to ensure adoption of the CSF across the industry, with a focus on outpatient, long-term, ambulatory, and home health providers. The CSF remains the industry standard for information security in healthcare.
