Phoenix Children’s makes big gains with homegrown data warehouse and apps

Hospitals and health systems have made extensive efforts to implement and optimise electronic health records (EHRs) over the past decade. However, this has not necessarily led to improvements in clinical care and patient outcomes. Phoenix Children’s Hospital utilised the abundant data from their EHR system to create an internally developed data warehouse, resulting in real-time, actionable insights for clinicians. The hospital has also implemented dashboards and apps to inform patient care decisions and improve safety.
