EHR password sharing rampant among hospital staffs, study says

A new study highlights the vulnerability of human factors in healthcare data security. The study found that many healthcare workers share passwords to access patient information, which is both unethical and dangerous. The researchers suggest improving usability of electronic medical records and implementing an additional option that grants maximal privileges for urgent actions. They also warn that the reduction of ethical standards is contagious and could lead to the sharing of unnecessary patient information.
