San Antonio Institute for Women’s Health, the largest OB-GYN practice in San Antonio, was hit by keylogging malware that breached financial and personal health data. The malware was discovered on July 6, but had been installed on June 5. During the month it was installed, the malware recorded and transmitted all data entered into the system, including names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, addresses, and payment information. Patients are being advised to contact their credit card companies to secure their accounts. The provider is offering one year of free identity theft protection and credit monitoring services.
