Around 68 percent of US consumers would consider leaving their healthcare provider if it was negatively impacted by ransomware, a survey by endpoint security vendor Carbon Black found. The company said it had conducted the survey to measure public perception of ransomware and expectations organisations should have in relation to data security following the recent WannaCry outbreak. Around 57 percent of respondents said WannaCry was their first exposure to ransomware’s workings, while 52 percent said they would not pay a $500 ransom, the survey said.
