75% of health orgs live below cybersecurity poverty line

Seventy-five percent of the healthcare industry is below the cybersecurity poverty line, according to Kaiser Permanente’s Chief Technology Risk Officer. The cyber poverty line is an undefined measure of whether or not companies are investing enough to protect patient data. Kaiser Permanente fends off more than 3 billion security events each day and is preparing for threats including hackers, state sponsors, and ransomware. The healthcare industry will continue to be highly targeted and ransomware attacks will become more sophisticated.
