Baptist Health’s new programme in Indiana and Kentucky encourages patients to take responsibility for their blood pressure and promote regular health checks. The health system has used the Epic MyChart Care Companion app, which provides an interactive plan of care for patients to upload their blood pressure readings, after acknowledging that traditional methods often fall short. Initial results from those using the system less than 90 days have included a double-digit drop in systolic blood pressure levels.
