A new survey from AnchorFree found that 36% of consumers are concerned about their health information falling into the wrong hands. The survey also revealed that 62% of respondents are worried about having their personal information stolen and sold. Many respondents expressed increased concern about online privacy and security, with 85% saying they are more concerned now than they were a year ago. Many attributed their increased concern to potential surveillance policies in the new U.S. presidential administration, the increased number of connected devices containing personal information, and recent cybersecurity threats and hacks. Additionally, 63% of respondents said they are more concerned about personal information privacy because of the Trump administration. The top concerns among respondents included having personal information used against them, companies collecting and sharing data, and exposure of location, preferences, actions, and information about family members.
