Dual ransomware attack victims now get hit within 48 hours
The FBI has issued a warning about a new trend in ransomware attacks where more than one strain is deployed within a 48-hour timeframe. In contrast to requiring at least 10 days to execute such attacks in the past, the majority of these incidents now occur within two days. Variants used include AvosLocker, Diamond, Hive, Karakurt, LockBit, Quantum and Royal. The bureau also reported that from 2022, many gangs started adding new code to their customised data theft tools, wipers and malware to evade detection.
