House approves FDA bill, medical devices to see new regs
The House of Representatives voted overwhelmingly in favor of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Reform Act. The bill includes policy reforms to drugs and medical devices, increases user fees paid to the FDA, and aims to expedite the review process for devices and improve transparency. The legislation is expected to reduce the federal deficit by $370 million over the next decade. Lawmakers are working towards a final draft to be completed by early July.
