A new survey from the National Partnership for Women & Families shows that patients who see their doctors using EHRs have a high level of trust in their physicians and have confidence in the potential for health IT to improve care. However, there are persistent concerns about data breaches. Regardless of the type of record, patients see value in EHRs, with 88-97% of those whose doctors use EHRs and 80-97% of those whose doctors use paper medical records saying that EHRs would be useful. Concerns about data breaches and privacy laws persist among respondents.
